A composite of 8 shots of Venus taken during the spring of 2004 as Venus headed toward its inferior conjunction (and transit) in June. This sequence illustrates the simultaneous growth in size and change in phase as Venus passes Earth on the inside track approximately every 1.5 years.

This sequence was shot with a Nikon Coolpix 4500 camera attached to a Celestron C8 telescope using a 14mm Scopetronix eyepiece. Each image is a composite of between 25 and 100 individual images processed and added into a single "stacked" composite image of the planet. Photoshop was used to assemble the final layout.
